BACK UP
Back Up got its name from Mike’s unceasing drive to get back up on the mountain following his spinal cord injury and paralysis in 1985. For the better part of four decades, Back Up has helped people and their families to rebuild their independence after a devastating spinal cord injury. Back Up’s award-winning, practical services challenge the perceptions of what’s possible and increase the skills and confidence of people with spinal cord injury.
CHRISTOPHER & DANA REEVE FOUNDATION
The Christopher & Dana Reeve Foundation is dedicated to curing spinal cord injury by advancing innovative research and improving quality of life for individuals and families impacted by paralysis. You may remember Christopher Reeve as the actor who portrayed Superman, and how he valiantly fought for equality for people with paralysis following his own spinal cord injury. The ‘Round the World Challenge is proud to be a partner of the Christopher & Dana Reeve Foundation in our mutual efforts to raise funds & awareness.
SPINAL CORD INJURY ONTARIO
Spinal Cord Injury Ontario (SCIO) endeavours to increase the health, mobility and options of those living with spinal cord injury and other disabilities all across this province. It’s a profoundly important job that is accomplished through an unwavering commitment to the person behind the disability, and by maintaining active relationships with the people and communities we serve and work alongside. SCIO are experts in the field and serve people with all disabilities. At RWC we are pleased to work with SCIO in a common goal of education and empowerment for people with spinal cord injury.
